The Latest on the Puggle
December 21, 2005 by dog-lover
Being an admirer of the puggle , I thought I would take the chance to share with you the latest american news reports on the breed. The “designer Dog”, with floppy ears, curly tail, great temperament and adorable face. This great dog the offspring of a female beagle and male pug, have boomed in popularity and these hybrids are settling into the homes of many famous people. The puggle has been around for about five years and their popularity is rising steadily, there are thought to be thousands in America alone. The American Hybrid Association notes that the puggles are their most popular dog among the five hundred litters a month the group registers.
Many experts believe crossbred dogs are healthier dogs because they draw from a more varied genetic background than the purebreds. The puggle combines the best of qualities from the two breeds, the lap-friendliness of the pug and the loyalty trait of the beagle. As with all dogs, if you are considering becoming an owner, do your homework and make sure your dog comes from a reputable source.

love my puggle - has the energy of both the pug and beagle. Both the cuteness of both breeds together. I loved the pug and the beagle now I have the best of both, in a very loving, loyal dog. I don’t care if he is consider a mutt, or hybrid..he is definately healthy and well loved.
HELP! Live in UK is there anywhere here I can get a puggle?

There are no reputable breeders in the UK or anywhere else that breed Puggles! They are only out to make money and are currenlty charging £3000 for a puppy. If you are stupid enough to part with that kind of money for what is a Mutt, I wish you all the luck in the world and hope very much your Puppy dosen’t suffer from health problem due to the lack of quailty of the parents. Nobody with good quality Pugs or Beagles that have been health checked and are well bred are willing to allow there dogs to be used to make Puggles. This only leaves the poor quality dogs been used which means you will end up with the poor quality puppy with health problems. Why don’t you go down to your local rescue centre and pick a dog in need of a loving home, after all we have thousands in rescue centres and with 150 been put to sleep a day in the UK, surely that would be a better option.
I understand you think Puggles are very cute but people who breed them( Puppy Farmers & backyard breeders ) in the UK are abusing them unfortunatley, as I’m sure you’ll agree £3000 is silly amount for any dog. Please be very careful and do loads for research before you buy any type of puppy.
